All our doctors and staff at the surgery would like to say a special "thank you" to our Patient Participation Group for their support and in particular grateful thanks to Mr and Mrs Lynaugh who have kindly donated and look after the beautiful flower arrangements at the surgery.
Judith Muir BA (Hons) is the practice manager in charge of the day-to-day management, and she will be pleased to help with any queries you may have. In her absence please contact either Stephanie Grant or Eileen Boucher, assistant practice managers.

Our two nurse practitioners, Dawn Warrillow and Dawn Lawton, are responsible for chronic disease management at the practice. The range of procedures and treatments covered by all nurses in the team at both Cambridge Avenue Medical Centre and Messingham Family Health Centre include:
dressings, ear syringing, removal of stitches, immunisations, cervical smears, family planning, and a full range of health promotion and disease management clinics. Please book an appointment to see a nurse. All nurses are involved with the telephone triage service, which enables the practice to direct the patient more efficiently to the most appropriate health care professional in a timely manner.
Health Care Assistants employed by the practice undertake surgery every morning and some afternoons. Duties include phlebotomy (blood sampling), wound care, blood pressure checks, spirometry, glucose tolerance testing and ECGs. Three of our HCAs are studying to gain NVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care.
We have a team of receptionists, secretaries and administration staff who support the doctors and nurses in an administrative role: booking all appointments, house calls, arranging urgent transport (this does not include hospital outpatient appointment transport) and dealing with repeat prescriptions, amongst other tasks. They have a very difficult job serving at the interface between doctors and patients and may have to ask what appear to be unnecessary questions of the patient, in order to ascertain the urgency of the problem.
Health visitors, who are employed by NHS North Lincolnshire, work as a team across the area. Depending on where you live, the contact numbers are as follows:

Physiotherapy (Cambridge Avenue)
POIESIS Clinics for patients suffering from anxiety and depression.
Access to these services is by referral from a health professional.
These are registered doctors who have had hospital experience. They wish to enter general practice and have been invited to join the practice to gain an insight into general practice medicine. Please accept them as one of us! The GP registrars are mentored by a designated 'trainer' at the practice (currently Dr Elango). As part of their vocational programme registrars will take a video of their consultations. The receptionist will keep you informed when this is in progress for your appointment.
Medical students regularly “sit-in” with the doctors. They are here to learn and we hope to provide them with a happy and useful experience. If you would prefer to see the doctor in private please do not hesitate to mention this and the student will be happy to leave.
